The Marble Horse Free Software Group is proud to support cryptographic advocacy projects including the distributed.net RC5 and OGR challenges. We feel participation in this challenge helps to publically determine the actual weakness of certain widespread algorithms. Only by showing a major flaw, or by proving a brute force attack is feasible, can weak algorithms be shown as less safe than others. Through these actions, standards move in the direction of greater security than in the past.
